Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 often referred to professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On the 21st of October, 2016 she dropped Pho, her debut EP under the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she first gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox released her songs online in 2012, when she dropped her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. The following year, her music was circulating throughout the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some references for Rihanna. She officially was signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is a track that she recorded alongside Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks featuring EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed then followed by a short video in September. On November 9 she dropped two more singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 13, she came out with two additional singles, The No One or Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared with Cole on her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November.
